In case you’ve been away from the Internets for the past three days, Kate Middleton quit her job to prep for the wedding to Wills.

Naturally this news has the International press in a total tizzy, so I decided to join the party with my own take for AOL’s MyDaily.com.

Agree or disagree? Like or dislike?

–> *note: I don’t necessarily think she shouldn’t have…

  1. Hey Jessie – I’m going to play devil’s advocate for a minute. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her quitting her job.

Brief background: As a 27 yr female, I advanced to ‘supervisor’ in a few years and have a side business. I believe women could solve the world’s crises.

However, why do most people work? Answer 99% would be to make a living to pay bills, etc. If people could help make a difference, we’d have a lot more people dedicating time and money to help those in need rather than climbing the corporate ladder to the top.

So, if you hit the lottery tomorrow, would you stay employed? if you truly loved your job, maybe. i’d argue 90% of people would quit their jobs, travel, help african people get water, etc.

Also, I think a lot of people put marriage and love on the bottom rung – but you sometimes have to make sacrifices, and that’s totally normal. move because of your significant other? Not everyone agrees, but people make that decision. and it’s TOTALLY ok.

Kate hit the marriage lottery and will be doing that in the near future… so who really cares if she quit the day he proposed, today, or in 3 months?
